Pre-Prep Curriculum
 |
The curriculum for the younger children emphasises the importance of reading and a variety of techniques are used to help the children acquire this vital skill. The children receive a thorough grounding in all National Curriculum core subjects: Mathematics, Science and English. Other subjects studied include History, Geography, Technology and Religious Studies. French is taught from the age of 4. The children use computer and audio-visual aids to enhance the learning process. Plenty of opportunities are provided to develop creative skills in Art, Craft and Drama. All children have class Music with opportunities for individual and group Music lessons. Importance is placed on the development of physical fitness and motor control. A wide range of activities is therefore offered, including Gymnastics, team games and Movement and Dance.
There is continuous assessment of the children's progress in order to ensure that we fulfil the needs of each individual. Teachers meet regularly with parents to discuss progress.
